Well, everyone is more or less familiar with the story by now, so I am just going to give links to my "Last Stand" and "Deja Vue all over again" comments.
Now, onto the news: apparently, Dan Rather decided that he is right where he wanted to be - in a place, from where he can righteously demand that George Bush answered his questions. And so, he demanded an explanation. From Bush. No, really - Dan Rather thinks that this is a story about Bush and he, Dan, is a fearless investigator in white gloves. Oh, well. That's life. Sometimes a person who, tarred and feathered, is being carried out on a pole starts daydreaming and thinks that he is riding in - on a high horse.
Anyway, here is a photo from the "IBM Selectric Typewriter with George Bush Memo Inside" (E-Bay item 3840143945) I mentioned yesterday:

P.S. Almost forgot!!! (Thanks,
hopma). Dan, apparently said that he starts suspecting that those memos are not entirely genuine. So, he decided "If the documents are not what we were led to believe, I'd like to break that story". Ah, FINALLY! At last now someone will break this yet unbroken story! What would we do without Dan Rather?! He is a man of integrity. He says: "Any time I'm wrong, I want to be right out front and say, 'Folks, this is what went wrong and how it went wrong'". Sounds like a good retirement plan. Will keep him busy for the next couple of decades.
